Sydney Travelling Film Festival

Huskisson Pictures Presents:

The Sydney Travelling Film Festival

29th - 31st August

Presenting films from Australia, India, Romania, China, Egypt, Germany & Turkey.

The Sydney Travelling Film Festival is delighted to return to Huskisson Pictures from Friday August 29 to Sunday August 31 with a dynamic and engaging program jam-packed with the best new local and international cinema. We open with a special screening of Son of a Lion, an Australian feature shot on-location in the north of Pakistan. Director Benjamin Gilmour will attend the screening to introduce the film and take questions from the audience.

This year’s festival also features cinematic voyages: to India with a feel-good, heart-warmer starring screen-legend Shah Rukh Kahn; to Romania with Tony Gatlif’s latest gypsy tryst; to Italy for a prize-winning dose of political unrest and brotherly love; to China aboard a luxury cruiser up the Yangtze river; to Israel with a stray Egyptian Ceremonial Police Orchestra; and to the ties that bind Germany and Turkey. The festival also features two fantastic new Australian dramas Unfinished Sky starring William McInnes and the innovative Men’s Group.

Tickets are available for single sessions, 5 film flexipass or 9 film subscriptions.

The 2008 Whale Watching Season is here!!

The 2008 Whale Watching season is here!

The whales have begun their annual migration north to the warm tropical waters to mate and give birth.

So far Humpbacks and Minke whales have been spotted but the species which can be sighted along the Shoalhaven Coast include Southern Right Whales, Pilot Whales and Orcas.

The whales can be easily spotted from any of the many headlands along the coast, or jump on board one of several whale watching tours that operate in the Shoalhaven for a closer look.

The season generally runs between May and November with the sea becoming a virtual highway of whales heading north early in the season and then returning to the Antarctic waters later in the year.
